Jan Bingley

Jan Bingley is CSIRO’s General Manager – Commercialisation and Equity Portfolio with responsibility for CSIRO’s commercialisation activities across the whole organisation.   She heads up a team of commercialisation specialists who are responsible for the execution of transactions that relate to the sale of IP including spin-outs, major licensing arrangements and equity related deals.  She is also responsible for the ongoing management of CSIRO’s portfolio of equity investments which is valued at around $50M.

Jan has over 17 years experience in the financial sector with 11 years at Sydney Futures Exchange (SFE) where she spent part of her tenure as General Manager – Finance and the remainder in project management and business analysis roles, implementing a number of applications relevant to the financial markets.  At SFE she was responsible for managing the research and business analysis for a number of market and product design projects, including that of a "carbon credit" market.

Prior to joining CSIRO in 2003 Jan was active in facilitating funding in Australia for technologies promoting “green” energy, and coupling those projects with secured carbon credits. Jan has been on a number of Boards of start-up companies and is currently on the board of a number of CSIRO related companies.
