Intellection leadership changes reflect company evolution
International high-tech mining services and mineralogy solutions company Intellection Pty Ltd has announced Board and management leadership changes which will take effect immediately.
The changes reflect Intellection’s evolution from a start-up venture in 2003 to a maturing global business. The past year has seen Intellection open regional offices in the UK and US, and achieve breakthrough sales in India, Russia and China.
Company founder Calvin Treacy has stood down from his role as Intellection’s CEO. This role will now be held by current Chief Financial/Operating Officer Chris Staples.
Chris has worked closely with Calvin for the past two years and has been involved in managing all aspects of the company.
Chris paid tribute to Calvin’s leadership in establishing Intellection. “Calvin’s vision in recognising the market potential for QEMSCAN® and his entrepreneurial passion have been the driving force behind Intellection’s rapid growth and international expansion to date,” he said. “It has been a real achievement, and he is leaving us in an extremely strong position to face the challenges of our next phase of development.”
At the Board level, Intellection Holdings Pty Ltd founding Chairman Barry Hilson has also resigned, and Richard Osborne has taken up the new role of Executive Chairman.
“Since joining the Board as a Non-Executive Director in May this year, I have been very impressed by Intellection’s core technologies, markets, and growth achievements,” Richard said. “I also believe in the company’s tremendous future potential.
“As Executive Chairman, and with a background in high-technology business leadership, I am here to support Chris and all of our senior management team. In the time he and I have worked together we have built a great rapport and share a common view as to the direction Intellection needs to take, and the market and financial objectives it must meet, heading into 2009.”
Richard has extensive experience as Chairman and CEO of global high-technology and logistics firms, based both in Australia and overseas. Following his time as CEO of TNT’s Australian businesses, he founded New Value Pty Limited, an investment and investment advisory company specialising in the rapid development of young high-technology Australian companies pursuing dominant, global market positions and high levels of shareholder value.
