iUG08 showcases leading edge automated mineralogy
QEMSCAN® users from around the world have spent two stimulating days exchanging ideas and taking a behind-the-scenes look at the latest developments in automated mineralogy.
More than 50 attendees joined Intellection staff in Brisbane, Australia for the fifth official Intellection User Group forum on August 29 and 30.
Intellection CEO Chris Staples said, “We kept this year’s program strongly user-focussed, with plenty of technical content.”
The agenda included case studies presented by customers on their experiences using QEMSCAN® and forum discussions on the use of automated mineralogy in different industries.
Intellection also gave presentations and workshops on a range of new QEMSCAN® products and capabilities launched at iUG08.
“The demonstration of the new R410 QEMSCAN®, for use in the field, was a real highlight,” Chris said. “It showed just how easy it is to set up the instrument and start measuring samples – it only took 12 minutes to set up and be ready for operation.”
Other presentations and case studies covered the new QEMSCAN® measurement capabilities for iron ore, coal and copper sulfides, which were extremely well received by all attendees. Click here to view the product release.
This year’s iUG08 followed directly on from the Automated Mineralogy 08 (AM08) conference, held at the same venue, and some attendees are staying on in Brisbane for the 9th International Congress for Applied Mineralogy (ICAM) on September 8–10.
